Worried you’re a bad driver and your premium is going to skyrocket? Well, just wait another twenty years when cars will drive themselves!
I came across this article today and thought it raised some interesting ideas:

The ruling is still out as to whether or not Autonomous Vehicles will become the norm. There are a lot of unknown factors at this point. Will people like them? How expensive will they be? Can they be hacked? But most importantly are they safe and reliable?
One big question mark for me is: how will insurance companies decide to handle Autonomous Vehicles? Currently auto insurance premiums are based on an equation taking into account the individual, their driving history, and the reliability of the car itself.
Self-driving cars flip that equation on its head.
It comes back to how safe and how reliable these cars are. Let’s hope that technology continues to be both of these.
Regardless of what the future holds, it’s best to know you’re covered.
